Shalyn Isaacs, M.Ed, CCCQ. RYT
(pronounced: Sha - Leeen)

For 9 years, Shalyn has facilitated mental health workshops,
community healing circles, and mindfulness meditation sessions for
academic, corporate, and non-profit communities. Her work is rooted
in a desire for liberation and creative self-expression among all people,
as this is a path for how new visions and realities of collective flourishing
can take place. Somatics (mind-body-spirit) frameworks, listening to
our bodies' inner guidance, and shaping new psychological narratives -
are core aspects of her approach to supporting wellness with career,
money, and creative expression.

She holds as Masters in Counselling Psychology from the
University of Toronto and is a counsellor with the Canadian Counselling
and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), a Certified Trauma of Money
Facilitator, and is currently working towards earning a
Certified Career Strategist (CCS) designation with Career Professionals
of Canada. She has been trained as a Mindfulness Meditation
Facilitator and Kundalini & Hatha Yoga Teacher with traditional teachers.

Her approach to supporting career expansion, financial wellness and
creative self-expression involves guiding women of diverse racial and
cultural identities in listening to their bodies and exploring their
core values, true desires, and holistic vision of success while challenging
social norms that limit their freedom and potential.

Career Counselling
From a Trauma-Informed, Culturally-Affirming,
Holistic Wellness Framework
My career counselling approach focuses on supporting individuals in navigating workplace health and wellness, making career and financial choices that align with their values, and empowering them to create career paths that respect their whole selves.
I specialize in supporting people, especially women with diverse racial and cultural identities with:

-
Navigating Workplace Inequities (i.e racism, sexism, discrimination)
-
Addressing stress and burn-out
-
Identifying the career paths that are a best-fit for you and your vision
-
Learning what you need in a workplace and how to find it, and communicate your needs.
-
Enhancing self-confidence and self-advocacy skills
-
'Imposter Syndrome'. Career Transitions
-
Communicating professional needs and boundaries with clients, colleagues and managers
-
Supporting entrepreneurship endeavors
-
Supporting leadership development
-
Work-Life Balance, Financial Beliefs & Patterns -these are all areas we can explore together.

Some of the practices I integrate into career counselling to support your mental health and career decision-making includes: Meditation, guided visualization, mindfulness practices,
creative writing, breathwork, compassionate questions, and other practices that are relevant and meaningful to the client based on their cultural / spiritual or religious background.

Mental Health Education Workshops
I have been creating and facilitating mental health education workshops for academic, corporate and non-profit organizations since 2016.
These workshops integrate current research insights from the fields of somatic psychology and neurobiology into: Trauma education, workplace wellness, the mind-body connection, emotional balance, financial trauma healing, relationship boundaries, and more.

I am a Kundalini & Hatha Yoga Teacher (RYT200) with additional education and trainings in trauma-informed care & somatic psychology.
I facilitate trauma-informed yoga classes that draw on my trainings in somatic psychology and ancestral wisdom, offering gentle movement, breathwork, and mindfulness practices that support Self-connection, nervous system balance, and mind-body-spirit wellness.

My approach is rooted in trauma-informed principles: empowerment, agency, and choice - allowing participants to engage with the practice in ways that feel safe and nourishing for their unique needs.
Rather than emphasizing rigid alignment or performance, I offer invitational language, choice-making, and variations to encourage self-agency.

My classes honor ancestral teachings of Yoga and
the mind-body-spirit connection, while recognizing the impact of trauma, social inequities, and lived experiences on our bodies & mental health. Through a blend of movement, breath, and stillness, I guide participants toward inner wisdom, self-compassion, and holistic wellness.
